This 4-week beginners yoga course gives you a solid start in yoga, helping you gain clarity and confidence to join general classes. Ideal if you are completely new to yoga, recovering from unwell/illness/injury, or feeling unfit/stiff/overweight. Suitable for ALL body types and ALL levels of fitness. You’ll cover the ESSENTIAL FOUNDATIONS of yoga:

  • Asanas (postures)
  • Pranayama (breathwork)
  • Adaptations and adjustments (personalising yoga)
  • Principles and practices of different yoga lineages
  • Meditation

What you’ll LEARN:

  • HOW to safely and confidently get into 20 common yoga asanas (postures)
  • HOW each posture works mechanically and physiologically, with adaptations for your unique physique and health condition/situation.
  • PROPS and equipment in yoga and how to appropriately use them for your physiology
  • BREATHING that helps unlock maximum benefits of postures
  • SEQUENCES you’ll often find in different yoga styles and WHY there are variations across lineages, styles or schools of yoga in modern times
  • HOW to cultivate a self-sustaining yoga practice

STRUCTURE of 4-week course:

  • Four x 90mins workshop sessions
  • Demonstrations of key asanas by instructor (watch then do, for optimum learning)
  • Practice of pranayama, meditation, asana (postures)
  • Personal adjustments/adaptations so you can learn from each other
  • Discussion and feedback
  • Homework (optional, yet extremely useful)
